- Google Removing China Porn Results – "The move comes after the company has received two warnings. The Chinese government is cracking down not only on Google, but also other sites that it says are responsible for the 'large volume of foreign internet pornographic information [that] has entered our borders.'"
- City asks applicants for Internet passwords – "Job applicants with the city of Bozeman are finding that their private Internet discussions and pictures may not be so private after all.
The city is asking job seekers for the user names and passwords to Internet social networking or Web groups to which they belong. The decision is sparking an outcry from those who say the policy goes way too far."
- Fraudsters Try to Scam Security Expert on EBay – "When security expert Bruce Schneier tried to sell a used laptop on eBay, he thought it would be easy. Instead, a sale was aborted twice — first by a scammer using a hacked eBay account and then by a buyer who tried to trick Schneier into sending her the laptop after she cancelled payment."
- Google Street View Solves Crime – "An image caught by Google Street View cameras in Holland has helped to catch a pair of muggers."
- Report: FTC to go after blogger freebies – "This would, for the first time, bring bloggers under FTC guidelines that ban deceptive or unfair business practices.
'New guidelines, expected to be approved late this summer with possible modifications, would clarify that the agency can go after bloggers–as well as the companies that compensate them–for any false claims or failure to disclose conflicts of interest,' the article explained."
