- Twitter’s Chief Talks About Lists, Traffic and Revenue – Bits Blog – NYTimes.com – "Twitter has long promised to help new users figure out who they should follow and help avid users filter their overflowing streams of tweets.
Its newest feature, Lists, accomplishes both of these things, said Evan Williams, Twitter’s co-founder and chief executive, on Tuesday at the Web 2.0 Summit in San Francisco."
- Details on Verizon’s Second Android Phone Leak Out – "Verizon is running TV ads for the Motorola Droid, its first Android smartphone, but this wireless carrier hasn't yet begun to talk about it second model running Google's OS. Nevertheless, a great deal of information on this upcoming smartphone has already leaked out.
The official name for this device hasn't slipped out yet, but it reportedly has the code-name Motorola Calgary."
- GE shows off handheld ultrasound device – "Someday in the not-so-distant future your doctor might take an ultrasound of a patient with a handheld device that's just a bit bigger than a Blackberry.
General Electric Co. CEO Jeff Immelt, Tuesday gave an audience at the Web 2.0 Summit in San Francisco the first public viewing of the company's new pocket-sized device, dubbed Vscan, that's designed for point-of-care imaging."
- Reports: Google to Launch Music Service and Phone – Network World – "Google is reportedly set to unveil its own music service and is also working with a smartphone manufacturer on an own-brand Android phone.
Two separate reports from TechCrunch and The Street say that the search giant is developing a music service, dubbed as Google Audio, and a smartphone that will not be sold through traditional wireless carriers."
- Is Apple’s Next Move Blu-Ray? – PC World – Amid the flurry of brand-new Apple products — including new iMacs, updated MacBooks and Mac Minis, plus more — sometimes details go unnoticed and slip through the cracks. One such detail was Apple's decision to change the display ratio on its new iMacs to 16:9 — which would then allow Macs to play 1080p, the Blu-Ray dimensions. Was this slight modification a tease of what's to come with next year's possible reworking of Apple's line?
